About the study programmes
The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences of the University of Zagreb offers three university undergraduate study programmes with a duration of three years (six semesters): Transport, Logistics, and Aeronautics. The programmes provide contemporary course content aligned with current economic needs and the development of transport systems in Croatia and Europe.
Duration and academic degree
The programmes last three years (six semesters). Upon completion, students obtain the academic title of university bachelor (baccalaureus) engineer in the relevant field of transport, logistics, or aeronautics. Teaching is delivered in full-time and part-time modes and combines theoretical instruction, laboratory work, and professional practice.
Application and enrolment in the first year
Applications for undergraduate study are submitted through the National Information System of Applications to Higher Education Institutions (NISpVU) at www.postani-student.hr. Admission requirements and the application procedure are defined in the Admission Call published by the University of Zagreb. Detailed information on deadlines, required documents, and admission quotas is available on the Faculty website.
Admission requirements and scoring
Application and enrolment in the first year
The application procedure starts through the National Information System of Applications to Higher Education Institutions (NISpVU), accessed via www.postani-student.hr.
This also applies to candidates who completed a four-year secondary school before 2010; they are not required to take the state matura examinations, but if they do take them, the results may bring additional points. More information about study applications, including the procedure, dates, required documents, and answers to frequently asked questions, is available on the website of the Agency for Science and Higher Education: https://www.studij.hr/sve-o-prijavama.
Admission requirements are published in the Call for Admission to the first year of undergraduate, integrated undergraduate and graduate, and professional undergraduate study programmes in the academic year 2025./2026. (pending the official publication by the University of Zagreb).
After the candidate completes the selection procedure and receives an enrolment number, the candidate must enrol by filling in the enrolment forms and submitting them to the Faculty’s Student Services Office. An enrolment number received in the summer intake cannot be used during the autumn intake.
If the admission quota is not filled in the summer intake, applicants who did not secure the right to enrol at a higher education institution may apply for the autumn ranking procedure, again through the NISpVU system. All deadlines should be followed via www.postani-student.hr, and they will also be published on the Faculty website.
If a candidate confirms the intention to enrol and then, without justified reason, fails to complete enrolment, the Faculty reserves the right to charge opportunity costs in the amount of one annual tuition fee (EUR 1,114.87).

Note: pupils who qualify for direct admission must have passed or had recognized the state matura examination.
The final publication of results for the summer intake is on 16 July 2025 after 3:00 p.m., and for the autumn intake on 17 September 2025.
Enrolment for the summer intake takes place on 21, 22, and 23 July 2025, while enrolment for the autumn intake takes place on 19 and 22 September 2025.
Upon enrolment, the candidate shall submit:
- Citizenship certificate (uncertified copy, with the original presented for inspection)
- Birth certificate (uncertified copy, with the original presented for inspection)
- One 4×6 cm photograph
- Proof of payment of the enrolment fee in the amount of EUR 60.00 (a sample payment slip with the required payment details is attached at the end of this page)
- Original certificate of completed prior education (for inspection) plus one copy of the certificate (retained by the Faculty; no certification required). Candidates who will not yet have the certificate by the time of enrolment must submit it no later than the introductory lecture.
- Proof of residence (for candidates whose residence is outside the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County)
- A copy of the identity card, both sides (for candidates whose residence is in the City of Zagreb or Zagreb County)
- A completed and printed ENROLMENT FORM (the form is attached at the bottom of the page)
- A completed and printed elective-course selection form (attached at the bottom of the page and completed only by students of the TRANSPORT and LOGISTICS programmes)
- A completed and signed CONSENT form
- Part-time students, and full-time students who in the academic year 2025./2026. are not enrolling in the first year for the first time, shall submit proof of tuition payment in the amount of EUR 1,114.87, payable in two instalments (half upon enrolment and the second half by 1 March 2026).
- Students who in the academic year 2025./2026. are not enrolling in the first year for the first time in full-time student status must submit a WITHDRAWAL CERTIFICATE and a CERTIFICATE stating the number of semesters used in full-time student status from the faculty from which they are coming.
- Candidates with a physical impairment of 60% or more must submit documentation proving the degree of disability issued by the competent institution.

Track: Pilot, with the specializations Civil Pilot and Military Pilot.
Track: Air Traffic Management, with the specializations Air Traffic Control and Military Air Traffic Control.
Applicants to the Aeronautics study programme must satisfy the admission prerequisites prescribed for individual specializations.
For the Civil Pilot specialization within the Pilot track, candidates must satisfy the medical criterion for civil pilots through a medical examination conducted at an authorized aeromedical centre (AeMC).
For the Military Pilot specialization within the Pilot track, candidates must satisfy the conditions of the public call for admission to cadet service for the military pilot specialization issued by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia. In the summer intake, only candidates who fulfilled the requirement in the previous year may enrol, while in the autumn intake the requirement may be fulfilled by the end of August of the current year.
For the Air Traffic Control specialization within the Air Traffic Management track, candidates must satisfy the medical criterion for air traffic controllers through a medical examination at an authorized aeromedical centre (AeMC).
For the Military Air Traffic Control specialization within the Air Traffic Management track, candidates must satisfy the conditions of the public call for admission to cadet service for the military air traffic control specialization issued by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia.
These prerequisites are eliminatory requirements for admission to the relevant specialization.
The ranking list of applicants for admission to the Aeronautics study programme (for full-time students in all four specializations) is compiled according to the following scoring system:

For the Civil Pilot and Air Traffic Control specializations, the medical criterion is assessed through a medical examination, at the candidate’s own expense, in one of the authorized aeromedical centres (AeMC) for aviation personnel examinations. The list of valid AeMC centres is updated continuously on the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency website.
The certificate of medical fitness must be submitted to the Faculty’s Student Services Office (referada@fpz.unizg.hr) no later than 4 July 2025 for the summer intake and no later than 9 September 2025 for the autumn intake.
Note for candidates applying to the Civil Pilot and Air Traffic Control specializations who have not yet completed the medical examination:
Because the number of available appointments is limited and the examination process may take longer, candidates should book their examination as soon as possible in one of the authorized medical institutions listed below, since the deadline for submitting the certificate of medical fitness is 4 July 2025.

Second year
Enrolment of students who in the academic year 2025./2026. will enrol in:
- the second year of undergraduate study
- a repeated first year with second-year courses
- a repeated second year with third-year courses (follow the notice also under ENROLMENT -> Undergraduate -> 3rd year)
will take place in the following periods:
- from 11 July to 25 July 2025 (for full-time and part-time students who have met the requirements for enrolment in the second year and for students who will not take any examinations in the September examination period)
- from 25 August to 25 September 2025
Enrolment forms are available through the Merlin e-learning system.
Third year
Applications to the internal call for selecting a specialization track within the undergraduate study programme TRANSPORT (tracks: Road Transport, Urban Transport, Information and Communication Transport, Postal Transport, Water Transport, Air Transport, and Rail Transport) and within the undergraduate study programmes ITS and LOGISTICS (tracks: Intelligent Transport Systems and Logistics) are submitted through the Merlin system by 4 July 2025.
The application is submitted by completing the provided form, provided that the student has the required completed status for enrolment in the selected track through the Faculty’s Student Services Office.
The student completes the track-selection survey, which constitutes the application to the internal call for enrolment in the chosen track through the Faculty’s Student Services Office.
Track selection is mandatory for all students who in the academic year 2025./2026. are enrolling in third-year courses for the first time. Students who in the academic year 2024./2025. already enrolled in the courses of a specific track enrol in the repeated enrolment of the same track in 2025./2026. and do not need to apply to the internal call again.
If the number of applicants exceeds the enrolment quota of a track, the following criterion is applied for student allocation:
- The ranking list is compiled on the basis of the grade average and ECTS credits achieved up to and including the current year of study. Data are retrieved from the higher education information system (ISVU).
- The relevant student-services confirmation determines the student’s enrolment in a specific track.
- Upon completion of the relevant semester, the student meets the requirement for further progression.
- Allocation of students to tracks is carried out by the Enrolment Implementation Committee, in consultation with the heads of tracks, on the basis of the received applications and the prescribed criteria.
- If the student cannot be enrolled in the track selected under priority A, the student will be assigned to the track selected under priority B; if that is not possible either, the student will be assigned under priority C.
Enrolment of students who in the academic year 2025./2026. will enrol in:
- a specific third-year undergraduate track
- a repeated second year with third-year courses
will take place in the following periods:
- from 11 July to 25 July 2025 (students who in the academic year 2024./2025. enrolled in the courses of a specific track or students repeating the second year who will not take any examinations in the September examination period)
- from 25 August to 25 September 2025
