- FPZ, Ulica Lavoslava Vukelića 4, 10000 Zagreb
The Mountaineering Association of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is an informal group of FPZ employees who enjoy spending their free time in the hills and mountains. It is open to everyone who appreciates nature, companionship and active recreation through hiking and climbing.
Why hike
Mountaineering is not aimless wandering through hills or merely reaching already conquered summits. It is a way of life that makes everyday life more pleasant, interesting and fulfilling. It allows people to explore the beauty of the Earth, enjoy mountain views, build friendships and recover through active time outdoors.
History of the association
Many FPZ employees had already been active mountaineers for years within Croatian mountaineering societies. At the beginning of 2011, the idea of organising joint trips was warmly received, and the first PU FPZ outing took place on 17 April 2011 in the Samobor hills. Since then, the association has organised numerous day trips and multi-day excursions, including climbs to Bijele stijene, Risnjak, Žumberak, Velebit, Anica kuk and the traditional hikes to Zarin above Brinje.
PU FPZ logo
To strengthen the sense of belonging among members and improve recognition, PU FPZ developed its own logo. The visual identity combines the traditional mountaineering trail marker with the FPZ logo into a single sign, which is now proudly worn on the association’s white T-shirts during excursions.
Getting involved in PU FPZ
Every FPZ employee can take part in the association’s work, join selected trips, propose new excursions or simply follow its activities through the Office365 group and the public Facebook page. These channels, together with the listed contact details, provide information about hiking in general, upcoming trips, photographs and impressions from previous outings.
