About the study programmes
The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences of the University of Zagreb delivers three university graduate study programmes with a duration of two years (four semesters): Transport, Intelligent Transport Systems and Logistics, and Aeronautics.
Graduate study programmes continue the education begun at the undergraduate level and enable students to acquire advanced professional and research competences in the fields of transport, logistics, and aeronautics.
Duration and academic degree
Upon completion of the programme, students obtain the academic title of Master of Engineering in Transport and Traffic Sciences, Master of Engineering in Logistics, or Master of Engineering in Aeronautics, depending on the study programme completed. Teaching is delivered in full-time and part-time modes through lectures, laboratory classes, project work, and advanced professional assignments.
Applications and enrolment
Application and enrolment in the first year
1. Applicants who have completed a university undergraduate study programme at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and continue their studies in the same programme and track
The ranking procedure is based on the overall grade average, defined as the arithmetic mean of examination grades achieved during the undergraduate study programme, expressed to two decimal places and considered together with the duration of study. Data are retrieved from the Information System of Higher Education Institutions (ISVU).
2. Applicants who have completed a university undergraduate study programme at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and wish to continue a university graduate study programme in a different programme or track
The bachelor applicant submits a request to change the study programme or track to the Committee for Teaching, E-learning, and Students. In consultation with the study coordinator and the head of the relevant department, the Committee decides whether the requested change may be approved.
If the request is approved, the ranking procedure is based on the overall grade average, defined as the arithmetic mean of examination grades achieved during the undergraduate study programme, expressed to two decimal places and considered together with the duration of study. Data are retrieved from the Information System of Higher Education Institutions (ISVU).
In the first year of the university graduate study programme, the applicant is assigned bridging courses, which are attended together with part-time students. Passed bridging examinations are not graded for ranking purposes and are not included in the total of 120 ECTS credits required for the graduate study programme. Bridging courses may be attended with full-time or part-time students and must be passed before enrolment in the second year of graduate study. The participation fee for bridging courses equals the number of enrolled bridging-course credits multiplied by EUR 18.58.
3. Applicants who have completed a university undergraduate study programme at another technical faculty
For bachelors from other technical and related faculties, the Committee for Teaching, E-learning, and Students determines, upon application, whether enrolment is possible and whether additional bridging examinations are required, depending on the curriculum of the previously completed study programme. If enrolment is approved, the applicant enrols the required bridging examinations in the first year of the university graduate study programme together with the other courses prescribed by the curriculum. Bridging courses may be attended with full-time or part-time students and must be passed before enrolment in the second year of graduate study. The participation fee for bridging courses equals the number of enrolled bridging-course credits multiplied by EUR 18.58.
II.1. Application for enrolment in university graduate studies in the academic year 2025./2026.
- Submission of applications for graduate study enrolment: from 15 September to 22 September 2025, until 1:00 p.m.
- Compilation and publication of ranking lists for graduate study enrolment: 23 September 2025
- Submission of appeals against the published ranking list: 24 September 2025 by email, until 12:00 noon
- Publication of the final ranking list: 24 September 2025, by 8:00 p.m.
- Enrolment in graduate studies: 25 and 26 September 2025
II.2. Documents required for application to university graduate studies in 2025./2026.
II.2.1. Applicants who completed a university undergraduate study programme and the preparatory year at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences
They submit the following documents by email to upisi@fpz.unizg.hr within the prescribed application deadline:
- Application form for enrolment in a graduate study programme
- Proof of payment of the application fee in the amount of EUR 60.00 for the academic year 2025./2026.
Applications sent by email will be confirmed by the Faculty’s Student Services Office on 23 September 2025 by 3:00 p.m. Applicants who do not receive confirmation of receipt must contact Student Services with proof of the sent application no later than 24 September 2025 by 11:00 a.m.
II.2.2. Applicants who completed a university undergraduate study programme at another technical faculty
They submit the following documents to the Faculty’s Student Services Office:
- Application form for enrolment in a graduate study programme
- Proof of payment of the application fee in the amount of EUR 60.00
- Citizenship certificate
- Birth certificate
- Bachelor diploma or certificate of completion of the undergraduate study programme
- Transcript of records or diploma supplement
II.3. Enrolment after publication of ranking lists
Upon enrolment, applicants submit the following documents:
- one 4×6 photograph
- proof of payment of the enrolment fee in the amount of EUR 60.00
- a copy of the identity card, both sides
- a completed and printed enrolment form
- a completed and printed elective-course selection form for the Transport study programme and the Intelligent Transport Systems and Logistics study programme
- proof of residence for students with dual citizenship and for students without residence in the City of Zagreb or Zagreb County
- proof of tuition payment for part-time students or students who are not enrolling in the first year of graduate study for the first time
- proof of payment for bridging courses for applicants who enrol them

Enrolment in the second year of graduate study
By way of exception to the progression requirements defined for continued study, students enrolling in the second year of graduate study may enrol in all second-year credits if they have no more than 15 ECTS credits outstanding from the winter and summer semesters.
Enrolment of students who in the academic year 2025./2026. will enrol in:
- the second year of graduate study
- a repeated first year with courses from the second year
- a repeated enrolment of second-year courses
will take place in the following periods:
- from 11 July to 25 July 2025 for full-time and part-time students who have met the requirements for enrolment in the second year of study and for students who will not take any examinations in the September examination period
- from 25 August to 25 September 2025 for full-time and part-time students
