Mission

The mission of the Department of Aeronautics is to provide high-quality education and professional development for future bachelor’s and master’s engineers in aeronautics, preparing them for the challenges of contemporary aviation. The Department has a social responsibility to encourage excellence and the development of new professionals who will be competent to solve problems in the field of aeronautics, make decisions, and manage highly complex systems such as an aircraft or an air traffic management system. The Department also has a special social responsibility in educating military pilot students and military air traffic controllers, which is of particular national interest.

Vision

The vision of the Department of Aeronautics is to become a scientific centre of excellence that provides top-level education and fosters creativity and a research mindset in the fields of aeronautics and air traffic management. Through cooperation with industry and leading national and European institutions, the Department aims to develop highly educated professionals who will contribute to the advancement of the aviation community and be ready for future challenges in aviation, such as the development and application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automated procedures and tools.
