About the study programmes
The doctoral study programme in Transport at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is designed to generate new and relevant scientific knowledge, ensure its application, and educate researchers in the technical sciences, within the scientific field of Transport and Traffic Technology. Particular emphasis is placed on preparing doctoral candidates for an independent, research-oriented, and interdisciplinary approach to complex problems, for autonomous scientific inquiry, and for the critical evaluation of other research contributions, while developing the knowledge, experience, and competences required for research-based and creative solutions to demanding social and economic challenges.
The doctoral study programme is based on a structured curriculum in which doctoral candidates join research groups active at the Faculty from the first semester until the defence of the doctoral dissertation. Education is conducted through two complementary processes. The first is formal teaching through compulsory and elective courses defined within the module structure. The second is the research process, implemented through the research seminar. These two processes are carried out in parallel, with research activity present from the very beginning of the programme.
