Such reimbursement is charged in accordance with the Criteria for Determining the Amount of Compensation for Actual Material Costs and Information Delivery Costs (Official Gazette 12/2014, 15/2014) and the Amendments to the Criteria for Determining the Amount of Compensation for Actual Material Costs and Information Delivery Costs (Official Gazette 141/2022).
The Faculty will deliver its response to a duly submitted request for access to information within the statutory period of 15 days from the date of submission.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences respects the privacy of every individual whose personal data it collects.
As the controller of your data, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is committed to safeguarding your personal data and guarantees that the collection and storage of such data will be conducted in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), the Croatian Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (Official Gazette 42/2018), and other applicable regulations governing this field in the Republic of Croatia.
Application of data protection principles
The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences pays particular attention to compliance with data processing principles and therefore processes personal data:
- Lawfully – processing is carried out only where permitted by law and within the limits prescribed by law.
- Fairly – by taking into account the specific circumstances of each relationship, applying all appropriate measures for the protection of personal data and privacy in general, and not preventing the data subject from exercising their rights.
- Transparently – by informing data subjects about the processing of personal data. From the very moment of data collection, when data subjects are informed of all aspects of the processing, until the cessation of processing, data subjects are provided with simple and prompt access to their data, including the right of inspection and the right to obtain a copy in accordance with the Regulation. Certain information may be restricted only where required by law or necessary for the protection of third parties.
- For specified purposes – by processing personal data only for the purposes for which they were collected, or for other purposes where the conditions laid down in the Regulation are met.
- With storage limitation – by storing data in a form that permits identification of data subjects only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed, and longer only where permitted by the Regulation or applicable law.
- With data minimisation – by processing data only where they are adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary. Particular care is taken not to collect data for which there is no justified need for processing.
- With due regard for accuracy – by maintaining the accuracy and currency of data and deleting inaccurate data where possible.
- With due regard for integrity and confidentiality – by ensuring appropriate security of personal data through technical and organisational measures, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
Your personal data will be processed only on the basis of a legal obligation, for the performance of a contractual obligation, on the basis of your consent, or on another legitimate basis. Personal data collected are processed with the mandatory application of appropriate legal, technical, and organisational security measures in order to prevent any unauthorised processing. Access to your personal data is limited solely to those employees who require such information. We collect only the data necessary for the specific processing operation and guarantee that data collected for one purpose will not be used for any other purpose or in any manner incompatible with the approved purpose. Where processing is not based on law or contract, we will seek your explicit consent.
For the performance of certain services, the Faculty has authorised third parties as processors and provides them with your data solely for the purpose of delivering the contracted services. The Faculty enters into data processing agreements with such processors governing their powers and obligations in relation to the processing of personal data and the confidentiality of the disclosed data, in full compliance with the Regulation and applicable law.
Data retention period
The Faculty will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil a contractual or statutory obligation or legitimate interest, except where personal data are processed on the basis of consent, in which case processing ceases at the moment you withdraw your consent.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending a request to the Faculty Data Protection Officer’s e-mail address: sluzbenik-za-zastitu-podataka@fpz.unizg.hr.
Please note that withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Exercise of data subject rights
Each data subject has the right at any time to request from the controller access to their personal data, rectification or completion thereof, erasure (unless there are justified grounds for retention), restriction of processing (for example, where the accuracy of data is contested until verification is completed), and withdrawal of consent to processing. These rights may be exercised by submitting a request to the Faculty Data Protection Officer at: sluzbenik-za-zastitu-podataka@fpz.unizg.hr.
Processing of personal data through video surveillance
The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences processes personal data through video surveillance only for purposes that are necessary and justified for the protection of persons and property, provided that the interests of data subjects that may conflict with such processing do not prevail.
Video surveillance includes the collection and further processing of personal data involving the creation of recordings that form or are intended to form part of a filing system.
Video surveillance covers rooms, parts of rooms, and the external premises of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, and such areas are marked by clearly visible notices upon entry into the surveillance perimeter.
These notices contain a simple and readily understandable pictogram together with text informing you that the area is under video surveillance, identifying the controller, and providing contact details through which you may exercise your rights.
Your rights in this regard include the right to request access, erasure, or restriction of processing of personal data from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, the right to object to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency.
The video surveillance system is protected against access by unauthorised persons.
Recordings obtained through video surveillance may be retained for a maximum of six months, unless a longer retention period is prescribed by law or the recordings constitute evidence in judicial, administrative, arbitral, or equivalent proceedings.
Procedure in the event of a personal data breach
As controller, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences ensures that, in the event of a personal data breach, it notifies the competent supervisory authority without undue delay and, where feasible, not later than 72 hours after becoming aware of the breach, unless it is unlikely that the breach will result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals.
The report submitted to the supervisory authority contains all information required by the Regulation.
Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences shall notify the data subject without undue delay. Data subjects will not be notified in cases where the Regulation provides that such notification is not mandatory.
