One of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, University of Zagreb, key development directions is the adjustment of all Faculty activities to the increasingly significant technological changes in the application of advanced technologies in transport, logistics, and aeronautics. The development and strengthening of the Faculty laboratories makes a particularly important contribution to that adjustment.

Today, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences has a total of 21 laboratories. The laboratories are distributed across 13 departments, which are also organized as the Faculty’s research groups, and four independent chairs. Four laboratories hold accreditation or certification issued by external bodies, while one laboratory is a joint laboratory of the Faculty and an industry partner.

The Faculty laboratories represent one of the key material and technical resources for teaching, scientific research, and professional activities at the Faculty. Many undergraduate and graduate courses include laboratory teaching, while research seminar work in laboratories forms the foundation of the Faculty’s doctoral study programme in Transport.

The most important research carried out within national and international scientific projects in which the Faculty participates as lead partner or project partner is conducted precisely in the Faculty laboratories. In a large number of laboratories, especially those certified by external bodies, analyses and testing are also performed for partners from industry and public administration in Croatia and across Europe and the world.

Laboratory equipment catalogue

The Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences laboratory equipment catalogue is a document that provides a comprehensive overview of the instruments, devices, software tools, and other resources used for teaching, scientific research, and professional work at the Faculty.

The catalogue helps inform students, especially doctoral candidates, as well as teachers, scientists, and researchers about the availability of equipment, thereby improving the planning and delivery of teaching, research, and professional activities. At the same time, the overview of instruments, devices, software packages, and other tools offers existing and potential partners from higher education, research institutions, and industry a clearer picture of the Faculty’s capabilities and supports collaboration on joint projects.
